WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PLASTIC BUMPER AND A PLASTIC BUMPER COVER? IS YOURS AN ACTUAL REPLACEMENT BUMPER OR JUST A COVER THAT GOES OVER THE ORIGINAL BUMPER?
Back in the good old days, we all knew what a bumper was - that great big chrome-plated steel thing on the front and rear of the car. Nowadays, it is less clear. There is still a metal bumper but you can’t see it because it is covered by a more beautiful plastic fascia which is commonly referred to as a “bumper cover” because it "covers" the metal “bumper” that is underneath. So what you are calling a "plastic bumper" is what the industry calls a "bumper cover." Two names for the same part.
WHAT COLOR IS THIS PART?
If the factory part is painted, then our part is shipped to you already pre-coated with black primer paint so it will be ready to accept your finish-color paint. Some factory parts are not painted but are instead textured and molded-in-color (the color is in the plastic). In those cases, our part is also textured and molded-in-color using the correct color and the correct texturing so it matches the factory part.
CAN YOU PAINT THIS PART TO MATCH THE BODY COLOR OF MY VEHICLE?
YES! Click this link Bumper Cover Painting to go to our paint page.
CAN I SAVE THE FREIGHT CHARGES AND PICK IT UP AT YOUR WAREHOUSE?
Yes. We welcome you to visit us. When you order the part, select "in-store pickup" and the delivery costs will be $0. If you like, please call us 30 minutes before you arrive and we will pull the part and have it ready for you so you don't have to wait.
I WANT TO PURCHASE MORE THAN ONE ITEM. CAN YOU BUNDLE THEM INTO A SINGLE PACKAGE TO REDUCE THE FREIGHT CHARGES?
Yes. Please call us first, before ordering, and we will make certain that the parts can be nested together for shipment. Then we can quote you the freight cost for the bundle (which is usually about the same as shipping a single item).
IS A PLASTIC BUMPER COVER EASY TO INSTALL? DO I NEED A PROFESSIONAL TECHNICIAN?
Installing a bumper cover is really simple - using basic hand tools you take out a few fasteners and it practically falls off by itself. The average weight is 10.5 pounds so it’s not heavy to work with. There may be a few snaps and clips holding it on, so just take your time and you'll be fine. To put the new one back on, you just reverse the procedure reusing the fasteners that came off. It is typically a 5 to 15 minute job to take it off and 5 to 15 minutes to put the new one on. If your car has fog lights or side marker lights in the bumper cover, unplug them first (look underneath and you will see the wires and the plug), then remove the bumper cover. There are probably 2 or 3 screws holding each lamp in, so remove the lamps and then, reusing the old screws, put them into your new cover, then install the new cover onto the car. Plug in the lamps and you’re done. A few vehicles can be more complicated and you might have to take a few extra steps (for example - remove the headlamps first to get at all the screws, which is not as difficult as it sounds) but most are pretty simple to remove and replace. If you just go look at your vehicle, you will be able to see for yourself how difficult it might be.
I'M IN (PUERTO RICO, UK, RUSSIA, ETC.) CAN YOU SHIP TO ME?
Original Fit Corporation does not ship outside of the United States and Canada. Once you leave the Continental U.S. 48 States, the freight rates for large oversize parts become really high. For example, shipping costs to Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico typically range between $340 to $385 - other typical examples: Toronto USD$187; London USD$800; Moscow USD$3340. But we WANT to sell you the part. If you know a cost-effective way to ship to your location, please tell us and we will make it happen! (Note: USPS won't ship bumper covers, they are too big.)
I'M TRYING TO FIND A BUMPER COVER (OR STEEL BUMPER, FENDER, GRILL, ETC.) FOR MY VEHICLE AND IT IS NOT ON YOUR WEBSITE. CAN YOU FIND IT FOR ME?
No. Sorry. We don't have the ability to search for special orders. Everything we have for sale is listed on our website.
